1955:
Florida Atlantic University establishes a foundation to solicit funds and raises three times the amount needed to begin building the University.
1998:
The Schmidt Family Foundation makes a gift of $15 million ($30 million with the dollar-for-dollar state match) and sets a record for private donations to public education in Florida.
2001:
Christine E. Lynn makes a $10 million gift ($20 million with the state match) to Florida Atlantic University’s nursing program, which now bears her name.
2016:
Bobby and Barbara Campbell make a gift of $5 million to create the Bobby and Barbara Campbell Academic Success Center in the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence.
2016:
Florida Atlantic's College of Business receives a $5 million gift from Phil and Susan Smith to establish the Phil Smith Center for Free Enterprise at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business.
2017:
The Schmidt Family Foundation makes a $16 million gift to provide funding for the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence.
2017:
Phyllis and Harvey Sandler make a $7 million gift to name the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work.
2019:
The Schmidt College of Medicine receives a $3 million grant from The Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation to study dementia patients and create personalized prevention plans.
2019:
Richard and Lesley Stone donate 17 paintings valued at $3.8 million, including works by Henri Matisse, Edward Willis Redfield, David Park and John Henry Twachman. The Rick and Lesley Stone Visual Arts Collection is housed in the Ritter Art Gallery on Florida Atlantic’s Boca Raton campus.
2020:
Arthur Gutterman makes a $3 million gift to establish the Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Family Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education, which provides education on the Holocaust and human rights for students from kindergarten through the collegiate level.
2020:
Former Kansas City Royals owner Avron Fogelman and his wife, Wendy, make a gift that includes their extensive collection of sports memorabilia, totaling $7.5 million.
2020:
Kurt and Marilyn Wallach donate $20 million to establish the Kurt and Marilyn Wallach Institute for Holocaust and Jewish Studies.
2020:
The Taft Foundation provided a $1.5 million grant to support Florida Atlantic University's Academy for Community Inclusion in support of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
2021:
The Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation gives Florida Atlantic University a $300,000 gift, and then increases it to $600,000 in 2024, to support students and programs in the College of Business through the Phil Smith Center for Free Enterprise
2021:
After giving more than $15 million in scholarship support, an anonymous philanthropist makes a gift of $6.4 million to The Kelly/Strul Emerging Scholars Program Fund, which gives academically talented, first-generation, low-income high school seniors the opportunity to attend Florida Atlantic University and graduate debt-free.

David J.S. Nicholson makes a $10 million gift to name gift to name Florida Atlantic's Stiles- Nicholson Brain Institute at the John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter.
2022:
Florida Atlantic University receives an estate pledge of $28 million from John and Ann Wood to support scholarships for students enrolled in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. This is the largest scholarship gift in Florida Atlantic University’s history and the largest known scholarship gift to a medical school at a Florida public university.

Holli Rockwell Trubinsky and Joseph Trubinsky make an estate pledge of $10 million to establish the Holli Rockwell Trubinsky Eminent Dean in Nursing.

Eleanor R. Baldwin makes a $7.5 million gift commitment gift commitment to Florida Atlantic Athletics, establishing our basketball and volleyball facility as the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

Michelle and Michael Hagerty make a $5 million gift commitment to support athletics facilities, establishing the Hagerty Family Athletics Village.

Richard L. (Rick) Stone and his children donate an outdoor sculpture by artist Eric Grate titled “Axe Man” valued at $1 million and also establish the Rick Stone Visual Arts Endowment to support the current and future care of donated artwork and to support the Visual Arts Teaching Lab within the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.

Florida Atlantic University receives a $1 million gift commitment from Arthur Gutterman to support construction and programming within the Kurt and Marilyn Wallach Building.

Florida Atlantic receives a $6 million grant from The Marcus Foundation to expand the programs of the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health, which focuses on community wellness initiatives.

Florida Atlantic's Laboratory Schools receive a $2 million grant to launch the Marcus Research and Innovation Center at the A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High School campus.
